Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Meet Margaret McDonald (5 min) Meet quilt designer and teacher, Margaret McDonald as she talks about her quilting journey and introduces you to the curved piecing project you’ll be creating.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Fabric selection and cutting (7 min) Margaret shares her tips and advice on fabric selection for the project, and she will show you some samples of the block made up in different fabrics to inspire you. Then she’ll show you how to cut your pieces using a template.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Make the spiral block centre (10 min) Follow Margaret as she shows you how to create the spiral block centre with curved piecing, and she’ll also discuss the best way to join your pieces and mark reference points.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Make the diamond band (15 min) Learn how to create the diamond band to attach to the spiral centre. Margaret shares her advice on which fabrics you can use and how to keep organised.

Chapter 5

Chapter 5: complete the block (15 min) Complete the block by creating your block background and attaching the block to the border, and Margaret will also share her tips on ironing your block to keep it flat.
