Make a fun lap quilt with appliqué flowers, suitable for a teenager, a daybed or just for cuddling up with on the sofa. This quilt pattern from Jennifer Knol is lovely way to combine easy patchwork and appliqué in one project.
- Full materials list included in instructions
- Instructions are provided for using wool felt for the flowers – just whip stitch them in place. Use a bias-tape maker for the centre wreath and Jennifer’s detailed instructions for preparing the circles, and you’ll have no raw edges to turn under on any of the appliqué
- An excellent project for crafters who want to build confidence in selecting colours for making a scrappy quilt, by simply choosing an assortment of fabrics in two coordinating shades. Follow Jennifer’s lead and use pink and green, or pick your own colours to suit your home
- It’s easy to vary the size of the quilt: just make more or fewer blocks and the border is easy to adjust to fit
- Makes a great gift made up in the recipient’s favourite colour combination
- Once the appliqué has been prepared, this project is very portable and ideal for crafting when you’re away from home
- This is an excellent project for a beginner with some previous quiltmaking experience looking for a larger project
