There is much in Australian quilting life to celebrate, from talented, award-winning quilters sharing their projects through to annual awards announcements, a closer look at some of the winning quilts from around the nation and special events.
This year we have extended the hand of friendship to our ‘quilting cousins’ in New Zealand. We share some of the winning quilts from the annual Hoffman NZ Challenge and we profile Lois Parish Evans, an Aussie living in New Zealand.
Leesa Chandler released her first fabric range — Under the Australian Sun — 10 years ago and we are delighted to share her journey. Back then, finding Australian-themed fabric was not easy, but these days there are so many to choose from. Take a look at page 110 to see just a small sample of the bright, fun, pretty, iconic prints available these days.
The eight projects we share in 2019 come to you from well-known quilters Michelle Marvig, Pat Forster, Leesa Chandler, Dijanne Cevaal, Sue Dennis, Julie Haddrick, Lisa Walton and Cheryl Filby. The projects include a cushion, small art pieces and a great picnic-size quilt. The skills range from simple piecing through to some textiles techniques to extend and enhance your skills.
