What is your home like? I live in a cottage-style home. It’s a very modest space ... small, some would say, with a little porch and more yard than house. Inside, it’s a cottage style with white-bead board walls, light-coloured furniture and hints of the beach most everywhere you look. Quilts hang on a giant ladder that extends to the ceiling and the nostalgia of turned legs, florals and gingham in grey make up the soft look of the furniture.

What country do you live in? I live in the USA. I live in a urban area, but I’m surrounded by farms and open spaces with growing clumps of subdivisions on the west side of beautiful Utah Lake. I am surrounded by mountains on all sides. It’s such a beautiful place to live. The water creates an amazing foreground for the towering mountains behind. Mt Timpanogos is part of the beautiful view and is the highest of the mountains that surround me.

Any funny or memorable travel moments you’d like to share from any of your travels? The most fun I’ve ever had was on a trip was to Minnesota with my parents. It’s such a long two days of driving. The first night, after driving around 14 hours, we finally made it to our hotel. We checked in and made our way to the elevator. The doors were just closing when my mother attempted to get the elevator doors to re-open by swinging her purse into the doorway. The elevator doors continued to close, taking her purse with them. Up, up, up the purse went ... my mother panicked and put her foot on the doors, attempting to pull the purse free. She eventually got the purse out, and we spent the next three hours laughing ourselves to tears over it. Mother is the most fun travel companion.

What are the three travel essentials you’d never leave home without?

* My own pillow.

* My makeup

* And some handwork! You never know when you are going to be sitting in an airport for an unexpected 3- 4 hours.

What’s the best thing about returning home?

Home is my sanctuary. I love being at home. Just being here is the best thing to me. I love the feeling of being HOME above all else. Home is where you can finally breathe!
