What crafts do you do?My love has always been counted cross stitch samplers….I also have made wool tapestries and of course patchwork and quilting…specializing in needle turn applique.

Who taught you your skills?I was first taught embroidery skills by my mother and crochet and knitting from my granny…..Quilting came much later….around 20 years ago….My quilting skills were learnt when I undertook some basic classes at a local store… from friends and some tutors but mostly through trial and error and persistence.

Do you teach/publish your skills and projects?My projects have been published in both Australian and French publications. My patterns are also available through my website. I teach at retreats and from my home….I also take part at many quilting groups and their exhibitions as a shop…or trunk show where I explain my style of hand applique, American piecing and EPP.

What do you love most about crafting?I love being able to meet lots of people in all walks of life….imparting my knowledge to others…and of course playing with fabric.

What is your proudest crafting moment/achievement?Mastering the sewing machine (I had a crappy old thing to begin with) and completing my first quilt. …also giving other ladies the skills and importantly the confidence to make decisions of their own when making a quilt.

5 words that best describe your craft style?Original, traditional, scrappy, applique, hand quilting.

Anything else?Whilst I don’t have a shop front…I do operate from my home which is open by appointment for bus groups or individuals who would like to pop in…. I am also available to visit sewing groups for trunk shows or as a pop up shop for retreats and community sewing quilt exhibitions. I love American reproduction fabrics which is mainly what I sell but I also love the soft and pretty fabrics as well and these can also be found in my shop. I love to create (never beginning with a plan…just a thought)…and watching things unfold…it’s amazing how things just happen….I also like to include aspects of different techniques in what I make.
