MY STYLE IS:
“Still evolving. But I love that, because there’s no time to fall into a rut or get bored. It’s a continuous journey of quilting evolution. When I look back at where I began with sewing, I don’t recognise the ‘me’ of now.”
WHY IS IT SEW?
“I tried sewing ½ inch hexis early in 2014. Do you remember Professor Julius Sumner Miller and his incredible science show for kids? Well, his hair was wild, and he’d ask the audience, ‘Why is it so?’ before he explained an experiment. Making ½in hexis sent my hair wild, and the people in the next suburb could hear me shrieking ‘Why is it so!!??’”

“My perfect quilting and stitching day: Rainy, windy and winter, with a pot of chai tea or Italian coffee, a good movie and no one else at home. Of course, living in the tropics means my dream is only realised for about eight weeks a year! But oh how I LOVE those eight weeks.”

“My quilting creativity is something I couldn’t ignore or deny, even if I wanted to. I tend to feel unsettled or agitated when I haven’t been able to express my creativity in some form for a few days.”

“I love the notion that, in years to come, the things I’ve made will be treasured by future generations. And in the here and now, I love seeing my children drag the quilts around the house, lounging over them and snuggling under them. I’ve been able to pursue my quilting and create something tangible that expresses my love for my craft, but also my love for my family.”

“Cute buttons always get me. I’m yet to use the collection I’ve accumulated, but in the future, when I need a strawberry button, I know I’ll have at least twenty options in various colours and sizes!”
